CASUS Meets, Prepares
for 2008 Convention

The Classical Association of the Southwestern United States held its 2007 convention at the mountain resort village of Cloudcroft, NM, September 21-22.  Secondary school, college, and graduate student teachers enjoyed the cool forest ambience, and in two paper sessions covered a wide range of topics, including Suetonius's biographical technique, the engineering of Roman aqueducts, ancient technology, Roman and Aztec mythology, and the teaching of Latin metrics and Roman history in school.

Plans are underway to bring the fall 2008 conference back to Cloudcroft; tentative dates, September 12-13. To be added to the mailing list for updates on the 2008 meeting, get in touch with the CASUS President, Dr. Ronald Weber of the University of Texas at El Paso, at rweber@utep.edu.
